LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Tuesday night, investigators continued to seek more suspects believed to be connected to three deadly shootings in Lubbock.
Authorities arrested Bradley Davis, 20, Tuesday morning at the Ponderosa Apartments in East Lubbock. Davis is charged with aggravated robbery, in connection to last Tuesday's death of Aldo Cervantes, 23.
Investigators believe Tyrone Robinson, 31, shot Cervantes, Angela Holt, 36, and Daniel Wilbon, 23. Robinson hanged himself at the Lubbock County Jail on Saturday. Police say before his death, Robinson implicated himself and four others in the shootings. Authorities tell us that robbery appears to be the motive behind all three.
New now are the never before heard moments that followed the killing spree. Police released the 911 tapes Tuesday evening. They reveal panic, and uncertainty after authorities say Robinson fired the fatal shot three times. "There's a crazy car that's driving around, and it hit a light pole in front of my house. It's like an old school Lincoln, like two tone blue," a 911 caller said.
That car ended up on East Cornell Street with Trent Johnson, 34 severely injured, yelling for help, with his passenger, Holt dead inside the vehicle. "He's yelling help, help, help. He's trying to wake me up and busted my window," another 911 caller said.
Court papers say Robinson got into a fight with Johnson about suspected gang activity. In a voluntary statement to police, he says: "The detective told me that the gun I used to shoot Trent and that woman is connected to three other cases."
Robinson was charged with Holt's murder. "Tyrone, through his interviews with our detective, has implicated himself in all three of them with the motive being robbery on all three," Lubbock Police Sergeant Jimmy Pachall said.
"I think somebody just broke into my house. I think they just shot my friend," a 911 caller said. That call led police to East Rice Street and the discovery of Wilbon. In his statement, Robinson told police he was there when Wilbon was shot, but at that time said he didn't shoot him. He named three others, including Davis, who he says were also there and planned to rob Wilbon.
"Somebody just tried to break into my house," a 911 caller said. "I can hear yelling. What's going on there," the dispatcher asked. "I don't know. I just opened the door," the caller answered. Robinson also told authorities he went to "do the robbery on 22nd Street" where Cervantes died. Again, he told authorities he did not shoot the victim, and again he named three other suspects, including Davis.
Despite that, police told us Tuesday they believe Robinson shot all three victims. "We also have partial names with other involved parties in the robberies who we are actively looking for now," Sgt. Pachall said.
Police tell us tips led to Davis' arrest. Now, they ask for more. If you can help authorities with any information about the shootings, call Crime Line at (806) 741-1000.
