Lieutenant Governor Elect David Dewhurst stopped in Lubbock Monday to assure area farmers they had the full support of Austin. Senator Robert Duncan welcomed Dewhurst at a meeting of agriculture leaders. Then, Dewhurst told the group about how he plans to help the industry.
"We've got to work hard to make sure that the environment is good. That we look at different programs that help our producers and we keep our costs as low as possible," said Dewhurst.
Dewhurst will succeed Bill Ratliff when he is inaugurated on January 21st.
