LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The Coupon Mom, Stephanie Nelson, knows a little research can go a long way when it comes to saving money.  She shows us restaurant coupons that came from the Sunday circular, but that's just one way to save.

"The other really great source of savings is the entertainment book," says Nelson.  "The trick is they come out in August or September at full price.  Over the year they go down.  I like these. They have a whole section of buy one get one free."

She buys it through her website and then goes to and registers the book which allows her to print even more coupons.

The most popular programs are through where she buys discounted gift certificates, but enjoys bigger savings through her website.

Nelson says, "Today our coupon discount is 50 percent off so instead of paying $10 for $25, you'll pay $5. Sometimes the discount is as low as 80 percent off meaning you pay two dollars for the $25 gift certificate."

There is also a website called "This [is a] network that actually gives you discounts in the form of cash rebates into your rewards network account. When you eat at the restaurant you don't show a coupon you just get a cash rebate on your total order," Nelson says.

But additionally, Coupon Mom has a strategy; use both websites at the same time to get the best deals.

"What I like to do is open next to and alphabetize and which ones do both.   So, I use my coupon to get $25 off and then use rewards to get $20 cash back on what I actually spent."
