Former Presidential candidate speaks in Lubbock

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Former U.S. Presidential candidate Ross Perot spoke Thursday evening in Lubbock.   He was the keynote speaker at the Texas Tech Vietnam Center 20th anniversary ball.  Perot spoke about the courage and sacrifice of American troops.

News reporters asked him how he would try to win the war on terror.

"Many of these cultures are totally different than ours," says Perot.   "Being killed or being martyred is the ultimate compliment. So they'll do crazy things we wouldn't consider doing. But you have to get inside their head and figure out what motivates them and then that has to be your strategy."

The Texas Tech Vietnam Center is the world's largest Vietnam War archive outside the U.S. National Archives.
