LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - For the last few weeks Lubbock and most of the viewing area was either not in drought or was only abnormally dry, but not this week. We now have moderate drought in the southern half of Lubbock County.

The northern half of the county is abnormally dry. That's according to the the latest federal drought monitor. We also have some extreme drought in the NewsChannel 11 viewing area and that's in Stonewall county.

Statewide, portions along the coast and the Hill Country with exceptional drought.
