LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A Lubbock lawmaker disputes a report that Democrats are upset with him. State Representative Carl Isett was accused in at least two newspapers of quote/unquote "pulling a fast one" when he delayed a review of TxDOT in the legislative session. Isett says lawmakers knew exactly what he was planning when he put off a review of both TxDOT and workers compensation.
He says it was a simple matter. Time was running out and there was no time to present the bill. But Isett also says he feels very confident that Governor Rick Perry will call a special session to deal with TxDOT reforms. The agency suffered what you might call a Billion-dollar accounting mistake in the past two years.
