LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Your tips led to the Wednesday arrest of a suspected armed robber. Lubbock police charged Robert Carruth, 34, with aggravated robbery around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Tipsters identified Carruth after they saw surveillance from the hold-up back on May 26th. That's when police say Carruth pulled a gun and demanded cash at the EZ Mart near 34th and Quaker. "It's basically a good example of community assistance combined with good investigation and police work," Lubbock Police Sergeant Neal Barron said.
Authorities took Carruth into custody Tuesday morning. They found him inside his parked truck. Investigators say Carruth implicated himself as the only involved party, saying he was out of work and desperate for money.
