Alcohol suspected in Tuesday wreck - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A Lubbock man remained in critical condition Wednesday evening, following a serious accident at I-27 and South Loop 289.  EMS rushed Gregory Smith, 38 to the hospital around 8:00 p.m. Tuesday.

Authorities say Smith was driving his Toyota pick-up east on the south loop access road, when he left the road, continued through the grass, hit a culvert, went airborne over the interstate access road, landed, rolled the truck several times, and then came to rest in the grass median of the interstate. Investigators suspect alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
