Lubbock native featured on Today Show

By James Clark | email

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Wednesday morning a Lubbock native was featured on the Today Show.   Leigh Daniel was locally famous even before the Today Show appearance because she won a gold medal for Texas Tech at the World University Games.  She also won an NCAA Championship in 1999 for the 5,000 meter run

Leigh and her fiancée, Nick Cordes, were featured on Today for the 10th annual "Today Throws A Wedding."  Leigh and Nick are among four couples who are finalists.

She says, "He's extremely kind hearted and probably one of the most honest people that I know. It gets him into trouble sometimes but I love that about him."

"She's everything that you could ever want.   She's funny.   And she can actually fire back at me when I'm trying to be a little on edge so she keeps me on my toes. She's awesome." Said Nick

Leigh now lives in Ashland, Ohio.  Leigh's mom Jan Tilley lived in Lubbock until recently.   By the way, Leigh and Nick could use your help to win the contest.   We have a link to the Today Show website with details.
