LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - There may be only one restaurant on the list, but they are familiar with the Food for Thought menu. In fact this downtown bar-b-q joint serves up its second helping of perfection.

Nestled in the middle of the hustle and bustle of down town Lubbock, we find this week's only top performer at 1306 Texas Ave.

While J & J Bar-B-Q may be a hidden hot spot, its savory flavor is no secret. "I think what makes it standout is, it's kind of home-style, it's small but people come in knowing their going to get a good meal get a good quality meal," said Bobby with J & J Bar-B-Q.

Open since 1970, Bobby says they stay busy serving both breakfast and lunch, but their key to cleanliness is moving. "We don't have many people just standing around. When we're not busy - we're cleaning," he said.

And that's their recipe for perfection. "Being a top performer is one in its class. It means a lot to us. We're proud to be one."
