Christmas Comes Early for Children with Disabilities

Christmas is for giving, right? Well, if you've answered the call and donated toys to kids you don't know this holiday season, some excited children on the other end of those programs, kids who get to pick up the wonderful surprises you've dropped off.

The Children's Orthopedic Center had its annual holiday party Friday at the South Plains Rehab. Dozens of kids who use that center for physical therapy showed up to enjoy the season and get a special present. This center is the only one of its kind between Dallas and Albuquerque serving about 3,000 children with disabilities.

Kids with Cerebral Palsy, Down's Syndrome and many orthopedic conditions. But Friday, they were all just kids, happy to be celebrating the season.
