LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Despite recent rain to the north of Amarillo our main water supply is not improving. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the lake (as of Sunday evening) has a depth of just less than 50 and-one-half feet. Lake Meredith provides almost half of our water supply in Lubbock.
That's not a record low, but it's not nearly as high as the lake used to be years ago. The level has been on a steady decline for the last 30 days despite 1.36 inches of rain as measured at Sanford, Texas near the lake.
