Would-be burglars meet with armed man

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A Lubbock man came face to face with two men who broke into his business.

Surveillance video provided by Computer Parts USA on Lubbock's West Loop captured portions of the encounter. A police report says just after 10 p.m. on June 2, two men smashed a window and caused $300  in damages.

Owner, Derrel Lewis believes they were going to burglarize the place.  But Lewis lives 45 miles away.  So, sometimes he does not go home and he stays inside the business overnight.

"Instead of trying to run em off with an aluminum softball bat like  I did, I keep this on location now," says Lewis as he holds a shotgun.  "And one of the fellas, through the door, the other night came face to face with this.   They all pretty much ran."

The surveillance video seems to depict two men; one White or Hispanic, the other Black.   They were driving what appears to be a Cadillac with decorative wheel rims. If you can help police find the men, call crime line at 741-1000.
