LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A TYCO employee remains in critical condition after an industrial accident involving toxic fumes that happened on Tuesday.
Just before 11:00 a.m., toxic fumes overtook two employees at TYCO, located in North Lubbock, near the Lubbock-Preston Smith International Airport, as they were performing a routine maintenance procedure. The other employee remains in satisfactory condition.
Five TYOC workers and five emergency crew members were treated and released from UMC on Wednesday. Investigators say high levels of hydrogen sulfide gas may have been to blame.
TYCO is investigating the incident internally, however, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has launched their own investigation.
