LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A Lubbock defense attorney was held in contempt for refusing to comply with an order in Judge Jim Bob Darnell's courtroom Thursday. Attorney Ben Webb failed to comply with the courts first order in trial, so the judge issued a second order which he did not comply with either. Webb ended up being taken to jail in contempt and was behind bars for 36 minutes.
Judge Darnell ordered Webb to testify in the case of Donald Johnson. Webb used to represent Johnson but was not his attorney for Johnson's trial this week. Webb refused to answer questions saying it was a violation of attorney client privilege.
