Covenant Health System responds to Gharati lawsuit

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Covenant Health System claims no wrongdoing in a recent lawsuit.  Back in May, NewsChannel 11 told you about a Lubbock woman suing Covenant Health System for age discrimination.

Catherine Gharati says she was illegally fired from Covenant and denied medical leave.  Covenant says in court records, "All employment decisions made regarding or affecting plaintiff were based upon legitimate, non-discriminatory, non-retaliatory, and reasonable business reasons that were in no way related to plaintiff's attempt to exercise her rights under the FMLA or her age."

Gharati was a Covenant employee for 21-years.
