LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Severe storms and wind gusts of up to 50 miles per hour Sunday evening caused damage to several areas on the South Plains.

The wind blew over a tree near 26th Street and Avenue P.  It blocked the road for several of the residents there.  The wind also damaged some construction signs and street signs, blowing them away or bending them sideways.

In Acuff, the wind blew the roof off of a home. The family who lives there says they found the remains of their roof quite about 100 yards away.

At 40th Street and Avenue S part or a power line fell over.  Crews from the Lubbock Fire Department and Lubbock Power and Light worked to put out sparks and restore power to residents in that area.
