A 56-year-old woman is undergoing surgery after an early morning car accident. It happened at FM 1294 and North University around 6:40 a.m. Wednesday morning.
Wanda Crownover was driving a Jeep Wrangler south on University when she swerved to miss a truck. A Caprock Waste Truck was backing out of the alley way at F.M.1294, and Crownover collided with the back of that truck.
New Deal firefighters used the Jaws of Life to pull Crownover from the wreckage. Paramedics took her to University Medical Center where she is undergoing surgery for serious injuries.
