LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - It isn't just a ploy to have your kids take out the garbage. According to a study from San Francisco State University, kids helping with chores around the house, can steer them away from depression.
In a survey of more than 200 teens, they found the young people who were assigned regular chores developed a sense of family obligation and reported fewer symptoms of depression. Specifically, researchers found that helping elders in the family was good for a teen's mental health.
