Lubbock County Commissioners to renew jail food service contract

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The Lubbock County Commissioners are expected to renew their contract with the Lubbock County Jail's food provider tomorrow county commissioners voted in September to cancel the contract with 'Mid-America' after the company was linked to a bribery case involving the Potter County Sheriff.

Then in November, the county awarded a new food service contract to 'Five Star' - which is the new name for 'Mid-America'.

Commissioners are expected to approve the first of four one-year contract renewals.
