Second water main break shuts down another Lubbock intersection

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A second water main break in Lubbock has caused officials to shut down the east and west bound lanes at 66th and Avenue P.

The break happened at 10:30 Monday morning. Drivers are advised to avoid the area.

Officials are still trying to repair a water main break that happened at 6:30 Monday morning at the intersection of 34th and Avenue M. A 16-inch valve ruptured and caused flooding of the intersection and commuter delays.

Officials say that the 34th street repair will take until at least noon.

There is no word on what caused either breaks.
