The 2012 Salutatorian of Borden County High School is Austin Fields, son of John David and Sonja Fields of Post.
Fields is a member of the National Beta Club and is a Distinguished Achievement graduate. He also completed 30 hours of dual credit college classes through Western Texas College during his high school career.
In U.I.L. Academics, Fields was a regional qualifier for two years.
Athletically, Fields participated in football, cross country, basketball, and track. He received numerous honors in football and baseball and was a regional qualifier in cross country, track, and golf.
Fields has been a class officer all four years of high school.
Fields plans to attend Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene this fall.
