Steelie Sanders

     The 2013 Salutatorian of Borden County High School is Steelie Sanders, daughter of Martin and LaWanda Sanders of Lamesa.

     Sanders is a member of the National Beta Club and is a Distinguished Achievement Graduate.  She also completed 30 hours of dual credit college classes through Western Texas College during her high school career.

     Sanders has been an active member of the Gail FFA, serving as chapter secretary for three years and participating in Chapter Conducting, Livestock judging, and showing animals.  She received the 4-H Gold Star Award, obtained her Lonestar and Chapter FFA degrees, and received the Senior Showmanship award at the county stock show.

     She also participated in academic UIL events and was a member of the Spanish Club.

     In the fall, Sanders will attend Abilene Christian University and major in Communication Sciences and Disorders.  She then plans to attain a Master's degree in speech pathology.
