Rebecca Owens - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

Rebecca Owens is the daughter of Caryl Owens and the late Michelle Owens.  She is the Salutatorian of Plainview High School, with a GPA of 3.864.  She has been in Student Council for two years, where she was Secretary, National Honor Society for three years, the Powerhouse of the Plains band for four years, where she was French horn section leader for two years, and UIL Math, Science and Calculator teams for four years.  She made region in Calculator.  She was a Hale County Junior Literacy Council board member for three years.  She attends First Baptist Church, where she participates in Acteens, Hand bells, and Youth.  She received the Terry Scholarship, Archer Math Scholarship, Chris Stokes Memorial Band Scholarship, and the Reid Rodgers Student Council Scholarship, among others.  She plans to attend Texas Tech University, where she will major in Mathematics.  She hopes to be a high school math teacher.
