LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The Texas Department of Transportation will detour the northbound traffic on I-27 near New Deal starting Wednesday.
The construction will begin on the bridge at South Loop 461 and FM 1729.
The detours are part of a $7.3 million project that will reconstruct six bridge structures along I-27 in Lubbock County near New Deal.
Work on the project began in early May with crews building traffic detours. The northbound bridge traffic will be detoured onto one lane of the southbound bridges. North and southbound traffic will be reduced to one lane.
The southbound bridge construction will not begin until the northbound project is completed.
Work to rebuild the structures is expected to continue through October 2010.
