About 1.2 million Americans will be diagnosed with cancer this year, according to the American Cancer Society. It is understandably a scary diagnosis, and we are quick to sympathize with the patient who begins treatment. But what about the children who watch cancer change their mom or dad? Words of wisdom from a little Girl Scout at Murfee Elementary.

In our special report, Kaitlyn's Story, we hear what it's like for a 7-year-old to watch her mom fight an agressive form of breast cancer.
