LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A Lubbock man is dead and three people are in jail after an early morning party turned deadly. James Ledbetter, 32 was found stabbed to death around 1:30 Wednesday morning in his Northwest Lubbock County home.
Lubbock County Sheriff's Deputies responded to 911 calls early Wednesday morning in the 6900 Block of County Road 6300. When they arrived they found Ledbetter's body in his home.
The Sheriff's office says three suspects remain behind bars in the Lubbock County jail for their suspected involvement in Ledbetter's death. Deputies say 38-year-old Armin Tavarez and 41-year-old Delia Rios Silva were arrested within an hour of Deputies responding to the scene.
They found 50-year-old Albaro Castillo hiding nearby and arrested him at 10 a.m. Wednesday morning. Authorities say they were all at a party Ledbetter was hosting. "What the call came in as and what was reported as apparently some sort of party and during that, a fight broke out leading to this individual's death," says Major Don Carter with the Lubbock Sheriff's Office.
Investigators are still working to determine what, if any, relationship exists between the suspects and Ledbetter. Deputies say he suffered a laceration to an artery in his groin area which they say would cause death in a short period of time. The medical examiner will determine an official cause of death.
Investigators say all the suspects believed to be involved in Ledbetter's death are behind bars.
