Ashton Layne Elmore

Ashton Layne Elmore is the daughter of Kevin and Mary Elmore of Sundown.  Ashton graduates as the 2010 Sundown High School Salutatorian.  Throughout high school, she was involved in cheerleading, power lifting, track & field, band, UIL Academics, Student Council and NHS.

She was a JV cheerleader her freshman year and a Varsity cheerleader from her sophomore to senior years.  During her senior year, Ashton was named an All-American Cheerleader.  She received first, second and third places throughout her power lifting career.

She threw the discus her freshman to junior years.  Ashton won a gold medal and a silver medal at the state level for marching band.  Ashton was a member of the UIL Calculator and Math teams.  With her involvement in Student Council and NHS, Ashton accumulated over 200 hours of community service.

Ashton was named a member of the National Honor Society her sophomore year.    Ashton will be attending South Plains College and then transfer to Texas State University in San Marcos to earn her Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Merchandising.

She was selected to be a part of the Texas Cheerleading squad for the Fall 2010 and Spring 2011 Semesters.  Ashton received the Sundown Booster Club Scholarship, the John L. and Vergie Belle Smallwood Scholarship, the Charles and Jane Thompson Scholarship in Business Administration, the SPC Cheerleading Scholarship and the SPC Salutatorian Scholarship.
