Domestic Disputed Turns Violent Lubbock Police Arrest Two

Two people are in custody following a domestic dispute in Lubbock on Monday morning.

It happened around 6:30 a.m. in the 8-hundred block of 35th Street. That's where an all night party between four individuals appeared to get out of hand, when 55-year-old Maria Guadalupe Burnam pulled a knife on another woman. She then pulled the same knife on 32-year-old Rafael Garcia Jr. That's when Garcia pulled a gun, and fired the weapon in the direction of Burnam.

Police now have both in custody. They are each charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Burnam also scratched an officer's face at the time of her arrest., adding one charge of assault on a peace officer.
