LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Back here on the South Plains, fans memorialized Michael Jackson on local airwaves.

Whether it was "Billy Jean," "Beat It," or tunes from The Jackson 5, Michael Jackson's voice was heard across the Hub City for years and Friday Lubbockites memorialized the pop icon through the medium on which they've enjoyed his music all these years.

Mix 100.3 played non-stop Jackson tunes throughout the day. The station was flooded with calls from fans as young as 10 and song requests. Fans told mid-day Jock Jerri Cruz what they will remember most about the King of Pop. In a way, callers eulogized Jackson, recalling their favorite songs and signature dance moves. "Our listeners are celebrating his music, his life, and his dancing. They are talking about what he meant to them," says Cruz.

Mix 100.3 will continue the tribute to Jackson throughout the weekend.

Senate Republicans are now considering two versions of similar legislation, one that would repeal and replace, and another that would simply repeal "Obamacare" with a two-year delay for implementation to give the Senate more time to agree on a replacement.
