Food for Thought Report 12.26

No coal in the stockings of any local or county restaurants this time. And the schools make up a lot of the list. Six different schools bring in a variety of violations this time. And our Top Performer is in a class by itself. Here's this week's Food for Thought.

We start at Frenship's Casey Elementary at 501 7th Street in Wolfforth where zero critical violations were found, making them a top performer. Also on that perfect scoring list--Frenship's Crestview Elementary at 6020 81st Street with zero violations.

Then it's on to Westwind Elementary School at 6401 43rd Street where one critical violation was found. The kitchen soap dispenser was empty. The violation was corrected on site. Frenship High School on Highway 179 and 82nd Street is where the lid of an ice machine was found to be soiled. That violation was corrected on site.

Frenship Junior High at 600 Main Street in Wolfforth is where two critical violations were found.

  • Some toxic item containers were not properly labeled.
  • The ice machine lid was soiled.

The report says both violations were corrected on site.

At Bennett Intermediate the internal temperature of chicken inside a food warmer was found at 120 degrees. Hot food must be kept at a minimum of 140 degrees. The report shows the violation was corrected on site.

They say it's lonely at the top, and that's never been more true than this week. Our only Top Performer is Whataburger at 4802 50th Street. They get zero critical violations.

There's no low performers to tell you about this time, so until we meet again happy holidays. See you next year!
