LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Lake Meredith is not a beneficiary of recent rains. Roughly 30 percent of Lubbock's drinking water comes from the lake.
Information from the U.S. Geological Survey shows that the lake level has dropped more than two feet in the last 60 days. There was flooding near the lake this weekend but that water flowed into the Red River rather than the Canadian River, so it's of no help to the lake.
