Helping local pets in downed economy

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - They won't take your pets but one local volunteer group can help pet owners who can no longer afford them.   The Lubbock County Pet Rescue is providing pet owners with assistance. They hope their efforts will prevent owners from dumping animals or taking them to the pound.

"With the economic times the way there are, one of the members said, you know we can't take in dogs and cats we have no funding," says Cathy Wells.  "We don't have a place to put them, we thought well we could offer them food, cat litter, bowls, and bedding."

If you need help or would like to donate call (806) 794-7054.
