Apartment fire deemed arson

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - According to the Lubbock Fire Marshall's Office, arson is the cause of an overnight apartment fire. Firefighters responded around 3:30 Tuesday morning to the Boardwalk Apartments in the 5500 block of 19th Street.

No injuries were reported but five people were displaced. The Fire Marshal's Office says they have named a person of interest. His name is Rick Schultz, and he has been questioned.

We just want to emphasize that he is not a suspect but a person of interest.
