Former Texas Tech employee indicted on theft charges

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A former Texas Tech employee is indicted on charges of theft by a public servant.

Prosecutors say 53-year-old James Mitchell took $87,000 worth of Texas Tech books and training materials and sold them as though they were his own. They also say the materials in question pertained to Head Start programs.

Online jail records do not yet indicate that Mitchell has been arrested.
