LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - An early morning accident in South Lubbock sent two people to the hospital after an SUV collided with a car, slammed into a telephone pole and burst into flames Thursday morning. Witnesses say the driver of the Suburban was headed west on South Loop 289 around 1:45 Thursday morning when he exited and hit a car on the access road near Utica. The accident knocked out power to some LP&L customers. Police identify the driver of the SUV as 22 year old Tyson Earl. University Medical Center said Earl is still in critical condition.
