TODAY Throws a wedding; the rings have been chosen

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Thursday morning, the wedding rings were chosen and the choices for the honeymoon destinations were presented in the TODAY Throws a Wedding series.

NewsChannel 11's Karin McCay will be going to New York City to attend a very elaborate wedding. It's not just any wedding; it's the "TODAY Show Wedding of the Year." She will be covering the wedding for a very special couple with Lubbock ties.

In fact, you may have voted for Leigh Daniel and Nick Cordes in the "TODAY Throws a Wedding" contest. Leigh was raised here in Lubbock and was a track star at Texas Tech. With the help of your votes, she and her fiance Nick have won, the all expense paid wedding courtesy of the "TODAY Show."

This week you can help choose other various aspects of Nick and Leigh's wedding. Starting Thursday, you can vote on the honeymoon destination by clicking here.

NewsChannel 11 and Covenant Health System are compiling a scrapbook, full of congratulations from Leigh and Nick's friends and fans here on the South Plains. NewsChannel 11 will continue to follow the couple's plans leading up to their big day and will personally deliver the scrapbook on their wedding day, Wednesday July 15th in New York City.
