A Teen's Alternative On New Year's Eve

While many are going out on the town New Year's Eve, some Levelland teens are making the conscious decision to stay in. The South Plains Church in downtown Levelland is opening its doors to young people. The church is providing a variety of safe activities, including basketball and pool tournaments, sumo wrestling, live music, and also a youth ministry.

"Tonight we just want to give the teenagers of this city a safe alternative and a place to come, but also we can minister to them."

"It's a lot of fun," said Holly Gilliam, a Levelland teen. "Without having to get into all the drugs and alcohol and stuff."

This is the 5th year for the event. And the South Plains Church is pleased with its continued success.
