Woody Harrleson accuses TTUHSC of torturing cats

By James Clark | email

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Famous actor Woody Harrelson is criticizing the Texas Tech Health Sciences Center.

In a letter dated Monday he writes to the university president,  "As a native Texan, I was shocked to learn from my friends at PETA that Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center has been purchasing cats from a nearby animal shelter and using them for cruel medical training exercises."

Texas Tech has always said cats are used to practice anesthesia so the cats are not conscious and do not suffer. Harrelson calls it torture.
