Save money and energy with Saver Switch

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - There's a new program that will help Xcel Energy customers save money. It's called Saver Switch and all that is required is that you are an Xcel energy customer and you have central air conditioning.

Xcel Energy will install a box for no charge into your air conditioning unit and then they will scale back your air conditioning in intervals. Residential customers will get a $50 rebate on their bill each year they participate.

Here's how it works. "It will cycle the compressor portion of the air conditioner on and off in about 20 minute intervals. So it's off for 20 minutes and then on for 20 minutes, so customers see a little change in temperature, but not a major change," said Preston Langford, Account Manager for Xcel Energy.

If you are interested in more information about Saver Switch and you are a residential customer, you can call 800-895-4999. If you are with a business, call 800-481-4700.
