The third suspect in a Lubbock shooting, Alfredo Chavez, turned himself in Monday. Chavez along with brothers Rudy and Ronnie Botello are charged with aggravated assault on December 29th. Police say the three suspects fired seven shots at another group of men in the 2800 block of 37th street. One man was hit, but has since been released from the hospital. Police say they will bring the third brother, Ruben Botello, back in for more questioning. Detective Richard Calderone says possible charges against Ruben Botello are not complete.

In other court news, a Lubbock Grand Jury indicted a Post man Monday accused of stealing a car and then taking it on a cross state crime spree. On November 30th, 28 year-old Jack Sapp allegedly stole a car from Gene Messer Hyundai in Lubbock. Police say he took the car to Childress, where he allegedly robbed a video store, kidnapped a woman and raped her. He then went to Altus, Oklahoma, where he was eventually caught and brought back to Childress. Sapp faces theft charges in Lubbock, but he also faces aggravated robbery, kidnapping, and sexual assault charges in Childress County.
