Another candidate has officially decided to make a run for Larry Combest's seat. Former Midland Mayor Carroll Thomas announced his candidacy on Monday afternoon. Thomas' announcement makes him the fifth person to officially file for the office and says the South Plains area needs to stick together.
"You look on the map, this is a small part of the U.S. We have got to stick together and work together. We have common interests and common goals, and it's my objective to achieve those goals for the entire district," says Thomas.
Other candidates who have filed are Mike Conaway and Bill Christian, also of Midland, and State Representative Carl Isett and Randy Neugebauer of Lubbock.
