Combest Nominates Lubbock Students for U.S. Military Academies

On Monday, Congressman Larry Combest announced the names of the 10 Lubbock students he has nominated to attend our nation's military academies.

Each of the nominees are required to have an above average academic record, and physical endurance.

For the U.S. Air Force Academy, the nominees are: Jeff Akeroyd, John Robin Cochran, Niki Kissinger, Travis Anderson, Lee Ellis, Kris Kelley, and Lute Barber.

For the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, Congressman Combest has nominated Luis Cobos.

And for the U.S. Naval Academy, Graham Shelly and Nick Lowe.

The academies will now evaluate the nominations from congress. Then appointments will be made this spring, based on the students merits.
