LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Tuesday night there was a surprise meeting on Lubbock's proposed animal shelter. As a matter of fact, it was a surprise to the man who organized the meeting - City Councilman Todd Klein.
Klein put together a town hall meeting to talk about the city's half billion dollar budget. But, when he opened up for questions, people instead wanted to talk about getting a new animal shelter. The project has been in the works for more than five years but the project keeps getting stalled.
Klein thinks it will get stalled again because his fellow council member Linda DeLeon withdrew support for a proposed location in Mackenzie Park.©2009 KCBD NewsChannel 11. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten, or redistributed.
