LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - New technology at Covenant is expected to increase the chance of survival after a heart attack in outlying areas.
It's called the Lifenet STEMI Management Solution and it's an electronic system that connects the ambulance to the emergency room. When a patient is going to the hospital by EMS, they can transmit the EKG. The facility will then be ready for the patient when they get there and take them directly to the cath lab."
This is the first web-based system of its kind and, so far, pilot programs are underway with the EMS in Plainview, Seminole and Lovington.
