Town Hall Meeting Called to Discuss Abernathy City Hall

Abernathy citizens have called a town hall meeting to get to the bottom of the controversy surrounding the demolition of their city hall. The demolition was scheduled to begin Monday, but actually began last Friday.

The bulldozers were stopped after Abernathy resident Jana Grimsley filed an injunction. Grimsley says the building should have been preserved as a historical landmark.

So now, the citizens have called for a meeting to be held Thursday, January 9th at 7:30 p.m. It will take place at the Senior Citizens Center in Abernathy. A judge will decide on January 17th if the city of Abernathy followed the law when it began tearing down the building three days ahead of schedule.
