Late Tuesday afternoon, a Lubbock grand jury indicted two suspects in two Lubbock murders. The first is 26 year-old Pedro Steven Chavez. He is accused in the shooting death of 36 year-old Joe Luz Martinez gunned down in a friend's driveway December 19th. Detectives say they have an eyewitness who has identified Chavez as the shooter, but the motive is still unknown.
Also indicted Tuesday, 22 year-old Milton Coleman. He is accused of fatally shooting 24 year-old Larry McBrewer Junior in the head. McBrewer was found dead in a Cadillac, December 23rd. Authorities first believed McBrewer was killed in a weather related wreck, but an autopsy revealed a gunshot wound to the head, and it turns out the car was stolen. That led police to Coleman, the owner of the Cadillac.
