PLAINVIEW, TX (KCBD) - A proposed plan to randomly drug test students involved in extra-curricular activities will not move forward. This week, the Plainview ISD School Board decided to table the issue indefinitely.
The proposal would have only tested students in 7th through 12th grades who are involved in extra-curricular activities. The Plainview Daily Herald reports that a number of concerns, including cost developed for board member Wes Naron, who originally brought up the issue, so he moved to table the issue indefinitely. Members can revisit the option is they chose.
