Car enthusiasts admire classics at Caprock Classic Car Show

LUBBOCK TX (KCBD) - Classic cars ruled the road in Slaton Saturday. The Caprock Classic Car Club put on their 14th Car Show and Cruise. Folks saw everything from muscle cars to antique cruisers, and participants came from all over. Enthusiasts also took part in a burn-out contest, and the Slaton Bakery presented the "Sweetest Ride" to 1 lucky winner.

Organizers say it's a great way to give back to the community. They raise money for beautification projects in Slaton. "This is a real good fund raiser for the City of Slaton. All of the vendors are handled by the chamber and most of them are local people. It just brings money back into the City of Slaton," said Rick Povlich.

Participants also took their ride through town during the "Cruise through Slaton" this evening.
