Lubbock man makes national news with marriage plans

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A young man from Lubbock makes national news with his marriage plans.  Texas Tech graduate and Roosevelt High School standout Kelly Hildebrandt will soon marry college student Kelly Hildebrandt. The couple met when "Girl Kelly," as she's known, searched for her name on Faceook. That's when she found "Boy Kelly."  She sent him a short message and then after weeks of flirting over the internet, Mister Kelly took a trip to Florida to meet the Miss Kelly.

Here was part of their interview Friday on the Today Show. Girl Kelly says, "I just told him that we had the same last name and I thought that was cool. And I just wanted to say hi.  It was a sentence, the whole thing."

Boy Kelly then responded, "I thought she was kind of cute.   I was like, 'hey there is another Kelly Hildebrant in the world." The two will be married in October. But the same name couple has already led to some confusion.  They almost lost one of their tickets for a cruise because the staff thought it was a typo instead of two passengers.

When asked "Will you be taking your husband's name or will it be hyphenated," Kelly girl responds "It will not be hyphenated!  "We thought about 'Hildebrant squared' but probably not that either.   No," says Boy Kelly.

So how did their families react?  According to the Today Show, both sets of soon-to-be in-laws agree this is a match made in heaven.
