Changes in the Lubbock Sheriff's Office leadership

Posted:

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A shakeup in the leadership of the Lubbock County Sheriff's Department. Major Don Carter has been demoted six levels, and stripped of his supervisory authority. He is now just Deputy Don Carter.

Chief Deputy Kelly Rowe confirms Carter was re-assigned but would only tell NewsChannel 11 that the sheriff thought it is what's best for the department and quote "there is no smoking gun."

This news comes after the sudden and unexpected retirement of former Chief Deputy Paul Scarborough in mid March. Deputy Carter told us that he could not comment at this time.
